Augustin awesome at 2nd LikeChess Rapid Rating Open 2026
Augustin A scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 2nd Likechess Rapid Rating Open 2026. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. Arushi Severin Helen D Silva scored sole 8/9 to secure second place. Farhaan M, Arjun U Prabhu and Gowtham J K scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed third, fourth and fith respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹140000 + trophies and medals. The top three prizes were ₹11000, ₹8000 and ₹7000 along with a trophy each. Augustin won the first tournament he played in 2026.

The top seed of the event, Augustin A made a perfect start by winning eight games in-a-row. Chiranth MD, Arushi Severin Helen D Silva, Prithvi G S and Gowtham J K were trailing by a full point at 7/8 each. Augustin needed a draw to become a clear champion. That’s exactly what he did against Gowtham. Chiranth lost to Arushi and the latter finished second. Prithvi suffered defeat against Farhaan M who claimed third place. The founder of LikeChess, Chiranth finished sixth with an impressive 7/9. Organizing a tournament, playing and performing well at the same time is no easy task. Chiranth managed to achieve that.

A total of 239 players took part from all over the country. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Chiranth M D at Sneha Milana Hall in Shivamogga, Karnataka on 1st February 2026. The time control of the tournament was 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
