Arjun and Vidit set to take on World’s top players at 3rd UzChess Cup Masters 2026
Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujrathi will be the two Indians to take part at 3rd UzChess Cup Masters 2026.

There will be four Indians taking part in the 3rd UzChess Cup 2026. Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujrathi in the Masters, Aditya Mittal in the Challengers and Sethuraman S P in the Futures section.
The Masters section has an average rating of 2698, 26 less than the previous edition. It goes without saying that it is an extremely strong tournament. Romania no.1, GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac (ROU) is the top seed in the Challengers section. The average rating in Challengers is 2580, 28 more than last year. GM Alan Pichot (ESP) is once again the top seed in the Futures section. The average in that event is 2495, 8 less than in 2025.

World no.5 – Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB), World no.8 – Arjun Erigaisi, World no.12 – Hans Niemann (USA), World no.17 – Ian Nepomniachtchi, World no.26 – Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (AZE), World no.31 – Vidit Gujrathi, World no.40 – Nodirbek Yakubboev (UZB), World no.89 – Shamsiddin Vokhidov (UZB), World no.98 and winner of Challengers last year – Nikolas Theodorou (GRE) and World no.202 – Mukhiddin Madaminov (UZB).
Time Control
40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes for the rest of the game with 30 seconds increment starting frtom move one in Masters. For Challengers, Futures and Open, the time control is 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
Prizes
The total prize fund combining Masters, Challengers and Futures is US$ 215000. Masters has $150000, Challengers $50000 and Futures $15000.
Schedule
Every day from 7th to 15th June 2026, the round starts at 3 p.m. local time, 3:30 p.m. IST. Only the last round will start at 11 a.m. local time, 11:30 a.m. IST.
