GM Harikrishnan A Ra and IM Gleb Pidluznij scored an unbeaten 5.5/6 each at Jūros šventė 2026 Chess Festival. Harikrishnan won the tournament on tie-breaks, Gleb was placed second.

Harikrishnan second in Rapid, his fourth tournament triumph of the year

The 34th Jūros šventė (Sea Festival) Chess Festival 2026 was organized in memory of ICCF Grandmaster Boris Rumiancev. GM Harikrishnan A Ra and IM Gleb Pidluznij (LTU) were the coleaders at 4.5/5 each, heading into the final round of Group A. Harikrishnan defeated Mantas Zaveckis (LTU) to become the champion. Julius Mikolavicius (LTU) lost to Gleb who finished second, the former was placed third. This is Harikrishnan’s fourth tournament triumph of the year, second in a month after winning 34th Heart of Finland Blitz Open 2026, a little over a week before this.

The tournament witnessed the total participation of 221 players – 19 in Group A, 55 in Group B (≤1800), 22 in Group C, 59 in Rapid and 66 in Blitz.

The total prize fund was €1750, €950 in Group A. The top three prizes were €400, €250 and €200 along with a trophy each.

Replay all available Group A games

A total of 19 players including a GM and an IM and a WGM took part from four countries across the world in Group A. The five-day six-round Rating tournament was organized by PI „Klaipėdos sporto projektai“; Klaipeda university; Klaipeda City Chess Federation; Basketball club “Reborda” at Klaipeda University in Klaipėda, Lithuania from 22nd to 26th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

Final standings in Group A

A total of 59 players including a GM and two IMs took part from six countries across the world in Rapid. The one-day seven-round Rapid Rating tournament was organized by PI „Klaipėdos sporto projektai“; Klaipeda university; Klaipeda City Chess Federation; Basketball club “Reborda” at Klaipeda University in Klaipėda, Lithuania on 25th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 6 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
