Gabriele Lumachi wins 4th Montevecchia Over 20 Above 1850 Rating 2026, Himal Gusain second
IM Gabriele Lumachi scored an unbeaten 5/6 to win 4th Montevecchia A (>1850) Over 20 Rating 2026. IM Himal Gusain also scored the same. He was placed second on tie-breaks.

IM Gabriele Lumachi (ITA) and IM Himal Gusain scored 5/6 each in the A (>1850) Over 20 category. Gabriele won the tournament on tie-breaks. Himal was placed second. Daniele Gonella (ITA) scored 4/6 to finish third.
The tournament witnessed the total participation of 41 players – 12 in Open A (>1850) and 29 in Open B (<1900).
The total prize fund was €2550. The top three prizes in A were €500 + trophy, €400 + medal and €300 + medal each.

A total of 12 players including three IMs took part from three countries across the world in Category A (>1850) Over 20. The four-day six-round Rating tournament was organized by ACSD ‘La Mongolfiera’ at Municipal Gym in Montevecchia, Italy from 30th May to 2nd June 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
