GM Karthikeyan Murali and GM Pranav Anand won Turkish Chess First League 2026 for Moda Sports Club.
Ilamparthi and Aswath finish second for Taş Duvar Sports Club and Leon third for Akçakoca Chess Sports Club
Turkish First League has six boards. Board no.1-4 are General boards, Board no.5 is for female players and Board no.6 is for Under-20 General.
Moda Spor Kulubu (Moda Sports Club) was the sole leader 13/16, heading into the last round. Resul Caner Satranc Akademi Ve Spor Kulubu (Resul Caner Chess Academy and Sports Club) was trailing by one point at 12/16. Moda Spor Kulubu defeated Guzelbahce Altyapi Satranc Spor Kulubu (Guzelbahce Youth Chess Sports Club) by 4-2 to become the champion.
Karsiyaka Satranc Ihtihas Spor Kulubu (Karsiyaka Chess Specialization Sports Club) lost to Taş Duvar Spor Kulubu (Taş Duvar Sports Club) by 2.5-3.5 and the latter secured second place. GM Ilamparthi A R and GM S Aswath contributed 7/9 and 6/9 respectively. Ilamparthi remained undefeated.
Akçakoca Satranc Spor Kulubu (Akçakoca Chess Sports Club) defeated Galva Metal Spor Kulubu (Galva Metal Sports Club) by 3.5-2.5 to finish third. GM Leon Luke Mendonca scored an unbeaten 6/9 on the top board.

India’s 97th GM Harshavardhan G B scored another GM-norm, since his title is not confirmed officially by FIDE. An extra norm does not hurt anyone. He scored an unbeaten 6/9, performed at 2625 for Guzelbahce Altyapi Satranc Spor Kulubu (Guzelbahce Youth Chess Sports Club).

The seven-day nine Swiss League Rating Team tournament was organized by Turkish Chess Federation at Meyra Palace Hotel in Ankara, Turkiye from 3rd to 9th August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
