Niladri’s fourth State title
Niladri Banerjee (Howrah), Aahil Patra (Kolkata), Aharsi Ghosh (Kolkata) and Rwitik Chakraborty (North 24 Parganas) scored 7.5/9 each. Niladri won the tournament on tie-breaks. The remaining three were placed second to fourth respectively. The top three finishers remained undefeated. This is Niladri’s fourth State title. Previously he won State Under-11 Open Rating in 2022, Rapid Rating in 2023, Under-13 Open in 2024.
The total prize fund was ₹160000. The top three prizes were ₹25000 + trophy, ₹18000 + trophy and ₹14000 each.

Niladri Banerjee scored an unbeaten 7.5/9, won the tournament on tie-breaks and gained 5.2 Elo rating points
A total of 277 players took part from various districts across the state of West Bengal. The five-day nine-round State Rating Open tournament was organized by Purba Bardhaman District Chess Association at Magnus Global School in Bardhaman, West Bengal from 6th to 10th June 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
