GM Petr Kiriakov, Arpan Das and Rishon Thapa (NEP) scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 each at 6th Dolakha Rating Open 2026. Petr became champion, Arpan second and Rishon third according to tie-breaks

GM Petr Kiriakov, FM Rupesh Jaiswal (NEP), Dhiren Rai (NEP) and Rahul Gurung were the four leaders at 6.5/8 each, heading into the final round of Rapid Rating Open. Rupesh lost to Rahul and the latter became the champion. Aashish Phunyal drew against Petr who finished second. Dhiren suffered defeat against Ranity who claimed third place.

The total prize fund was NRs 673500, NRs 502000 in Classical and NRs 171500 in Rapid. The top three prizes in Classical were NRs 100000, 60000 and 40000 along with a trophy each, for Rapid they were NRs 25000, 15000 and 10000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 134 players including a GM took part from various parts of Nepal, Bangladesh, France, India and Mongolia. The five-day nine-round Rating tournament was organized by Dolakha Chess Home, Nepal at Simpani Hall, Charikot in Dolakha, Nepal from 11th to 14th and 16th May 2026. Rest day was on 15th May. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

Details

The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating tournament was organized by Dolakha Chess Home, Nepal at Simpani Hall, Charikot in Dolakha, Nepal on 15th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 10 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
