7th Stepan Avagyan Memorial 2026: Aravindh gets back to winning ways
The defending champion, Aravindh Chithambaram scored his second win in Round 4 of 7th Stepan Avagyan Memorial Round-Robin 2026.
Aram Hakobyan gains sole lead
Aram Hakobyan has emerged sole leader with 2.5/4, after the fourth round of 7th Stepan Avagyan Memorial Round-Robin 2026. Eight players are trailing him by a half point at 2/4 each including the defending champion, Aravindh Chithambaram and the top seed of the tournament, Nihal Sarin. Nihal has drawn all four of his games so far.
Round 4: Donchenko – Aravindh: 0-1
The only time Aravindh Chithambaram (2692) and Alexander Donchenko (GER, 2640) played a Classical rated game against each other was over two years ago. Aravindh won that game. This time also the result was the same with the same color. Aravindh overcame a difficult position to win the game.
