Imran wins 25th Città di Nichelino Festival 2026
IM Md. Imran scored an unbeaten 4/5 to win 25th Città di Nichelino Festival 2026 Open A (>1800).
Imran’s 13th triumph of the year
IM Md. Imran, IM Daniele Genocchio (ITA), FM Alessandro Santagati (ITA) and Vittorio Fargetta (ITA) scored 4/5 each and remained undefeated. Imran won the tournament on tie-breaks. The remaining three were placed second to fourth respectively. Imran also became the first Indian to win this tournament in its 25th edition.
The top three prizes were €750 + trophy, €500 and €300 each.

A total of 40 players including three IMs took part from six countries across the world in Open A (>1800) event. The three-day five-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Gianmarco Florio at Centro Polivalente Nicola Grosa in Nichelino, Torino, Italy from 9th to 11th October 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
