Eastern Railway scored an unbeaten 10/12 to win 38th All India Inter Railway Team Chess Championship 2026.

There are two secret tournaments in India – Intra PSPB and RSPB tournaments. Both are non-rated events as it is an internal event. Eastern Railway won their second consecutive All India Inter Railway Team Chess Championship with the exact same score 10/12. Even match wins – four, draws – one and a full match point ahead finish was also the same as 2025. South Eastern Railway scored an unbeaten sole 9/12 to secure second place. Southern Railway finished third scoring 8/12.

Eastern Railway’s team performance
A total of 16 teams including 14 GMs and 16 IMs represented various railway divisions of Indian Railways across the country. The three-day six-round Swiss League non-rating team tournament was organized by WCR Sports Association at Railway Stadium Basketball Court in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh from 5th to 7th October 2026. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
