Chakravarthi Reddy dominates 4th Unity Club Rapid Rating Open 2026
IM M Chakravarthi Reddy scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 4th Unity Club Rapid Rating Open 2026. 11-year-old Joshua Mark Telles and Mandar Pradip Lad scored 8/9 each. They secured second and third place respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹25000, ₹20000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each.
Chakravarthi’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
IM M Chakravarthi Reddy was the sole leader 7.5/8, heading into the last round. Six players – Joshua Mark Telles, Mandar Pradip Lad, Aarush Bhat, Saras Summer Powar, CM Samarth J Rao and Bhaskar Brahma were trailing by a half point at 7/8 each. Aarush lost to Chakravarthi and the latter became the champion. Joshua defeated Samarth to claim second place. The top seed of the event, Mandar won against Bhaskar to finish third.

IM M Chakravarthi Reddy scored an unbeaten 8.5/9, finished a half point ahead of the rest and gained 26 Elo rating points
A total of 318 players including an IM took part from various parts of the country. The two-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Unity Club at A/C Hall, Village Panchayat Nagoa in Salcete, Goa on 18th and 19th April 2026. The time control of the tournament was 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
