IM Vladimir-Alexandru Cnejev, FM Nicodim-Cosmin Stepanencu and IM Md. Imran scored 4.5/6 each at Check & Mate A (>2000) 2026.

Imran perfect at Blitz Rating Open

IM Vladimir-Alexandru Cnejev (ROU) won the Classical Rating tournament A (>2000) on tie-breaks, FM Nicodim-Cosmin Stepanencu (ROU) second and IM Md. Imran was placed third. The total prize fund combining all four events was 32000 lei. The top three prizes were 4000, 3000 and 2000 lei each.

Imran scored a perfect 7/7 to clinch Blitz Rating Open. FM Teodor-Cosmin Nedelcu (ROU) scored 6/7 to secure second place. Petrut Sandor (ROU) scored 5/7 to finish third. The top three prizes in Blitz were 600, 400 and 200 lei each.

A total of 29 players including three IMs, a WGM and a WIM took part from four countries across the world. The four-day six-round Rating A (>2000) tournament was organized by Gabriel Popa & Sah Club Diana Galati at Cultural Center, Cristian in Brasov, Romania from 21st to 24th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

Final standings in A

A total of 40 players including an IM took part from four countries across the world. The one-day seven-round Blitz Rating tournament was organized by Gabriel Popa & Sah Club Diana Galati at Cultural Center, Cristian in Brasov, Romania from 22nd May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
