Rahul’s first rating tournament triumph of his career
Ruturaj Rushikesh Dhotre and Prabal Pandey were the coleaders at 7.5/8 each, heading into the final round. Rahul N Kamath, Rohit Rahulkumar J and Thangraj Nadar were trailing by a half point at 7/8 each. Rohit lost to Rahul and the latter became the champion. Prabal drew against Ruturaj and they were placed third and second respectively.
The total prize fund of the festival was ₹3222111, ₹1205010 for the Below 1800. The top three prizes were ₹105010, ₹65000 and ₹50000 along with a trophy and medal each.

A total of 545 players took part from various parts of the country, one from Germany and two from the USA. The three-day nine-round Below 1800 Rating tournament was organized by Nagnath Halkude at Dhruv Global School in Pune, Maharashtra from 24th to 26th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
