Md. Imran clear first at Wellness Chess Tour GP6 Harkány Rating Open 2026
IM Md. Imran scored an unbeaten 6.5/7 to win Wellness Chess Tour GP6 Harkány Rating Open 2026.
Imran’s sixth rating tournament triumph of the year
The top seed of the tournament, IM Md. Imran was the sole leader at 5.5/6, heading into the final round. Lehel B Garai (HUN) was trailing by a half point at 4.5/6. Imran defeated FM Csaba Zoltan Varga (HUN) to become a clear champion. Nur Alya Sabila Ariwibowo (INA) lost to Lehel and the latter finished second 6/7. CM Istvan Benedek (HUN) defeated Luka Kudlecek (CRO) to finish third 5/7.
The total prize fund was HUF 300000. The top three prizes were HUF 100000, 60000 and 35000 HUF.

A total of 26 players including an IM took part from seven countries across the world. The four-day seven-round Rating Open tournament was organized by AO Jozsef Jeszenszky at Hotel Kager**** in Harkány, Hungary from 28th to 31st May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
