Sharan Rao scores a perfect 10 to clinch Fagernes Autumn Open 2026
IM FT Sharan Rao scored 10/10 to win Fagernes Autumn Open 2026.
Sharan wins the tournament with a round to spare
The top seed of the tournament, IM Sharan Rao was the favorite to win the event. He was the sole IM taking part in the event and his rating was 232 points more than the second seed. He made a perfect start by winning nine games in-a-row and became a clear champion with a round to spare. The last round would not have affected his championship chances, still he went for the maximum against Karim Ali (NOR) to finish with a perfect score 10/10. Stanislav Hohelj (UKR) scored 7.5/10 to secure second place. Martin K Andersen (NOR) finished third 7/10.
The top three prizes were €500, €300 and €200 each.
