Devansh Singh perfect at 2nd Khelo Chess India Rating Open 2026

Devansh Singh scored a perfect 9/9 to win 2nd Khelo Chess India Rating Open 2026. Ahilaan Roy scored sole 7.5/9 to secure second place. Divyanshu Gupta and Sidharth Upadhyay scored 7/9 each. They were placed third and fourth according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹150000. The top three prizes were ₹35000, ₹20000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each.

Devansh clinches with a round to spare, his first tournament triumph of the year

Devansh Singh made a blazing start by winning eight games in-a-row and winning the event with a round to spare. Sidharth Upadhyay, Chitransh Shrivastava, Shahid Noor and Ahilaan Roy were trailing by 1.5 points at 6.5/8 each. Chitransh lost to Devansh in the final round. Thus, the latter maintained his perfect score 9/9, after becoming the champion. Shahid lost to Ahilaan and the latter was placed second. Daksh Abhishek Jain suffered defeat against Divyanshu Gupta who finished third.

Devansh Singh won the tournament with a 100% score 9/9, finished 1.5 points ahead of the rest and gained 46.8 Elo rating points

A total of 111 players took part from all over the country. The nine-day nine-round Rating Open tournament was organized by ChessBase India and Khelo Chess India Club Corner at Sage International School in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 23rd to 31st March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
