Mandar Pradip Lad clinches a double at KLE Tech Republic Day Rapid and Blitz Rating Open 2026
Mandar Pradip Lad scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 each to win KLE Tech Republic Day Cup Rapid and Blitz Rating Open 2026. He finished a half point ahead of the rest in both events. Rushikesh Kabnurakar and Ayyappan P Santhana Prabhu scored 8/9 each to secure second and third place respectively in Rapid. Aditya B Kalyani and Srikara Darbha was placed second and third in Blitz scoring 8/9 each. The total prize fund was ₹500000, ₹400000 in Rapid and ₹100000 in Blitz.

A total of 304 players took part from all over the country, five from Malaysia and one from USA. The two-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by KLE Technological University at Dr. Prabhakar Kore Sports Arena KLE Technological University in Hubballi, Karnataka on 25th and 26th January 2026. The time control of the tournament was 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment.

A total of 331 players took part from all over the country, five from Malaysia and one from USA. The one-day nine-round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by KLE Technological University at Dr. Prabhakar Kore Sports Arena KLE Technological University in Hubballi, Karnataka on 26th January 2026. The time control of the tournament was 5 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
