Syed Abdul Khader perfect at 2nd MAHE Bengaluru Blitz Rating Open 2026
Syed Abdul Khader scored a perfect 9/9 to win 2nd MAHE Bengaluru Blitz Rating Open 2026. IM Harsh Suresh, IM Mohamed Anees M, IM Md. Imran and Sailesh R scored 7.5/9 each. They secured second to fifth place respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹300000. The top three prizes were ₹35000, ₹25000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each.
Syed’s first rating tournament triumph of the year
13-year-old Syed Abdul Khader made a blazing start by winning eight games in-a-row. IM Harsh Suresh and P Santhana Prabu Ayyappan were trailing by a full point at 7/8 each. Santhana lost to Syed Abdul and the latter became the champion with a 100% score. Harsh drew against IM Kaustuv Kundu to secure second place. IM Mohamed Anees M defeated CM Sudarshan Bhat to finish third.

Syed Abdul Khader won the tournament with a 100% score 9/9, finished 1.5 points ahead of the rest and gained 100.4 Elo rating points

A total of 225 players including seven IMs took part from various parts of the country. The two-day nine-round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by and at Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 22nd March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 5 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
