Mukhiddin Madaminov wins 3rd UzChess Cup Masters 2026 with a 2791 performance

Mukhiddin Madaminov beats Shamsiddin Vokhidov 2-0 in tie-breaks to win 3rd UzChess Cup Masters 2026.

Challengers: Aditya Mittal second, Futures: Sethuraman third

Despite being a last-minute replacement for the FIDE World Cup 2025 winner and the World Championship Challenger, Javokhir Sindarov (UZB), the lowest rated player in the field, GM Mukhiddin Madaminov (UZB) seized his opportunity. Both Madaminov and Shamsiddin Vokhidov (UZB) scored 5.5/9 each. Madaminov won the 3’+2″ Blitz tie-breaks by 2-0 against Vokhidov to become the winner of the tournament. This performance definitely attributes to the fact that Madaminov nearly spent a month with Sindarov during the World Cup. That definitely helped him tremendously when it comes to preparation. Thus, his fantastic performance does not come as a surprise. He performed at 2791 and gained 25.2 Elo rating points, crossing 2600 for the first time.

So who is next after Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboev and Shamsiddin Vokhidov? The answer is clear – Mukhiddin Madaminov.

GM Mahammad Muradli (AZE) had already won the Challengers section with a round to spare. In the final round, he drew against GM Jakhongir Vakhidov (UZB) to finish with 7.5/9, a staggering two points ahead of the runner-up. GM Aditya Mittal defeated GM Eltaj Safarli (AZE) to secure second place 5.5/9. GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac (ROU) claimed third place scoring 5/9.

IM Khumoyun Begmuratov (UZB) became champion in the Futures defeating FM Bekhruz Umarov (UZB). Khumoyun scored 7/9. GM Rinat Jumabayev (KAZ) drew a GM Sethuraman S P. They secured second and third place scoring 6.5/9 and 5.5/9 each respectively.

The top two prizes in the Masters were US$ 20000 and $10000. In Challengers, they were US$ 6000, $5000 and $4000. For Futures, they were US$ 4000, $3000 and $2000.

Time Control

40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes for the rest of the game with 30 seconds increment starting frtom move one in Masters. For Challengers, Futures and Open, the time control is 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

Prizes

The total prize fund combining Masters, Challengers and Futures is US$ 215000. Masters has $150000, Challengers $50000 and Futures $15000.

Schedule

Every day from 7th to 15th June 2026, the round starts at 3 p.m. local time, 3:30 p.m. IST. Only the last round will start at 11 a.m. local time, 11:30 a.m. IST.
