Hari Madhavan aces 1st Little England Blitz Rating Open 2026

IM Hari Madhavan N B scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 1st Little England Blitz Rating Open 2026. Mihir Shah, Arnav Gupta, CM Gokul G and Sai Abhinav Kuchibhotla scored 8/9 each. They secured second to fifth place according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹20000 + trophy, ₹15000 and ₹10000 each.

Hari’s third rating tournament triumph of the year

GM Laxman R R and IM Hari Madhavan N B were the coleaders 7.5/8 each, going into the final round. Eight players were trailing by a half point at 7/8 each. Hari defeated Indrajeet Mahindrakar in the last round to become a clear champion. Raaghav Kabil M lost to Mihir Shah and the latter finished second. Dharsh M suffered defeat versus Arnav Gupta who claimed third place.

A total of 392 players including a GM and two IMs took part from various parts of the country and one from the USA. The one-day nine-round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by Ananthi Chess Academy and Viyugam Chess Academy at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering in Hosur, Tamil Nadu on 1st March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
