Arpan Das dominates Sivasagar Rating Open 2026

Arpan Das scored an unbeaten 8.5/10 to win Sivasagar Rating Open 2026. Anustoop Biswas, Bhogen R K Singh, Naiyayike Biswas and Abhirup Saikia scored 8/10 each. They secured second to fifth place respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹300000. The top three prizes were ₹75000, ₹45000 and ₹20000 along with a trophy each.

Arpan wins this event for the second consecutive year with exact same score

Bhogen R K Singh was the sole leader 8/9, heading into the final round. Arpan Das was the sole player trailing by a half point at 7.5/9. Bhogen lost to Arpan, the former finished third and the latter became the champion. Aditya Kiran Borgohain suffered defeat against Anustoop Biswas who claimed second place. This is the second consecutive year, Arpan has won the event with the exact same score 8.5/10. Last year also he scored the same and finished clear first.

Arpan Das scored an unbeaten 8.5/9, finished a half point ahead of the rest and won this event for the second consecutive year

A total of 361 players took part from various parts of the country. The six-day ten-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Sivasagar Chess Academy at Milan Mondir in Sivasagar, Assam from 24th to 29th March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
