Jens Evang Ingebretsen clear first at Fagernes GM 2026, Diptayan, Tarun, Normunds and Ritvik share second place
IM Jens Evang Ingebretsen (NOR) scored 7/9 to win Fagernes Chess International GM 2026. GM Diptayan Ghosh, IM Tarun Kanyamarala (IRL), GM Normunds Miezis (LAT) and FM Ritvik Krishnan scored 6.5/9 each to share second place. IM Savitha Shri B is the only other Indian to make a top ten finish. She scored 6/9 to share sixth place. The top three prizes were €2400, €1600 and €800 each.
Ritvik Krishnan scores an IM-norm and also clinches Slow Blitz
FM Ritvik Krishnan scored the sole IM-norm of the tournament. He also won the Slow Blitz tournament scoring an unbeaten 6/7. Two years ago, Ritvik dominated a Blitz event in Fagernes, Norway.

A total of 58 players including 8 GMs, 7 IMs, 2 WGMs and a WIM took part from 15 countries across the world in the GM-group. The eight-day nine-round Rating tournament was organized by CM IO IA Hans Olav Lahlum in cooperation with Sotra Sjakklubb at Scandic Valdres in Fagernes, Norway from 29th March to 5th Arpil 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 100 minutes + 40 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
Final standings in GM
A total of 25 players including an IM took part from five countries across the world in the Group A. The one-day seven-round Blitz Rating tournament was organized by CM IO IA Hans Olav Lahlum in cooperation with Sotra Sjakklubb at Scandic Valdres in Fagernes, Norway on 3rd Arpil 2026. The time control of the tournament was 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment.
