Snehit Raj Singh triumphs at 4th Mandar Rapid Rating Open 2026
Snehit Raj Singh scored 8/9 to win 4th Mandar Rapid Rating Open 2026. Shubham Kumar, Kishan Kumar and Abhishek Sonu scored 7.5/9 each. They secured second to fourth place according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹51500. The top three prizes were ₹10000, ₹7000 and ₹5000 along with a trophy each.
Snehit’s first rating tournament victory of his career
Nilanta Chanda and Snehit Raj Singh were the coleaders at 7/8 each, heading into the last round. Arpit Anand, Shubham Kumar, Abhishek Sonu, Kishan Kumar and Shivansh Baranwal were trailing by a half point at 6.5/8 each. Snehit defeated Nilanta to become a clear champion. Shivansh lost to Shubham and the latter finished second. The top seed of the event, Kishan won against Arpit to claim third place.

Snehit Raj Singh scored 8/9, finished a half point ahead of the competition and increased his Elo rating by 37.2 points

A total of 122 players took part from all over the country. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Banka District Chess Association at Khel Bhawan in Banka, Bihar on 5th April 2026. The time control was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
