Ankit Das wins 8th Ayodhana Rating Open 2026
Ankit Das and FM Arun Kataria scored an unbeaten 8/9 each at 8th Ayodhana Rating Open 2026. Ankit won the tournament on tie-breaks, Arun was placed second.
Ankit’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
Vikramjit Singh was the sole leader 7.5/8, going into the last round. Ankit Das, FM Arun Kataria, Indrajeet Mahindrakar and WCM Sanskruti Wankhade were trailing by a half point at 7/8 each. The two-time West Bengal State Under-15 Open champion, Ankit defeated Sanskruti to become the champion. Arun won against Vikramjit to finish second. Parambrata Sarkar scored a full point against Indrajeet Mahindrakar to finish third..
The total prize fund was ₹400000. The top three prizes were ₹70000, ₹50000 and ₹30000 along with a trophy each.

Ankit Das scored an unbeaten 85/9, won the tournament on tie-breaks and gained 94.8 Elo rating points
A total of 420 players including an IM took part from all over the country. The five-day nine-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Chess Players Parents’ Forum, Guwahati, Assam at Assa Down Town University in Guwahati, Assam from 8th to 12th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
