Javokhir Sindarov superb at Naroditsky Memorial Rapid and Blitz 2026 Masters, Aravindh second in Rapid
The FIDE World Cup 2025 winner and World Championship Challenger, Javokhir Sindarov won both Naroditsky Memorial Rapid and Blitz 2026 Masters. Aravindh Chithambaram secured second place in the Rapid.
Sindarov wins Rapid via Playoff against Aravindh
The World Championship Challenger, Javokhir Sindarov (UZB) defeated Aravindh Chithambaram 2-0 in the Playoffs to win the Rapid Masters event. Both Sindarov and Aravindh scored 6/7 each in the Rapid event. While Sindarov suffered a loss in the Swiss-league stage, Aravindh remained undefeated.
The tournament was organized in memory of everyone’s favorite, Late GM Daniel Naroditsky (USA). He left a lasting impression on the entire chess universe.
The total prize fund was US$ 50000, $15000 in Rapid and $25000 in Blitz. The remaining $10000 in the Challengers section. The top three prizes in Rapid were US$ 3000, $2500 and $2000. The top three prizes in Blitz were US$ 6000, $3500 and $2500. Winner’s bonus in each event was $500.

The one-day seven-round Rapid Rating Masters tournament was organized by Charlotte Chess Center at Charlotte Marriott City Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA on 3rd July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
