Samujjal Baruah clear first at 5th BMK Memorial Inter School Rapid Rating 2026

Samujjal Baruah scored 8/9 to win 5th BMK Memorial Inter School Rapid Rating 2026.

Samujjal’s first rating tournament triumph of his career

Samujjal Baruah, Aarav Santanu Bordoloi, Hridhant Sharma and Avik Santanu Bordoloi were the four leaders at 7/8 each. Samujjal defeated Avik to become a clear champion. Aarav drew against Hridhant and they were placed third and second respectively according to tie-breaks.

The total prize fund was ₹100000. The top three prizes were ₹10000 + trophy, ₹8000 and ₹6000 each. This is Samujjal’s first rating tournament triumph his career.

A total of 196 players took part from various schools. The three-day nine-round Inter-School Rapid Rating tournament was organized by and at The Assam Valley School, Balipara in Tezpur, Assam on 13th, 14th and 15th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 25 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
