Diego Saul Rodri Flores Quillas wins Emporium Chess Open 2026, C R G Krishna third
IM Diego Saul Rodri Flores Quillas, IM Steven Rojas Salas and IM C R G Krishna scored 7/9 each at Emporium Chess Open 2026. Diego became champion on tie-breaks. Steven and C R G Krishna were placed second and third respectively.
Five Indians in top ten
Both IM Steven Rojas Salas (PER) and IM C R G Krishna remained undefeated. IM Mandar Pradip Lad, IM Ravi Teja S, CM Shrayan Majumder and WCM Sri Darshini T scored 6/9 each. They secured sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth place respectively according to tie-breaks.
The total prize fund was €2700. The top three prizes were €800, €500 and €300 with a trophy each.

A total of 65 players including seven IMs took part from seven countries across the world. The seven-day nine-round Rating tournament was organized by CER L’Escala Chess Club at Casal del Jubilat Jardí del Pedró in L’Escala, Catalan, Spain from 31st August to 6th September 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
