Abhimanyu Puranik and Narayanan S L win Spanish Primera División 2026 for C A Solvay

Club Ajedrez Solvay scored a perfect 14/14 to win CEClub Primera División 2026. GM Abhimanyu Puranik and GM Narayanan S L contributed 3.5/7 and 4.5/7 each.

Club Ajedrez Solvay defeated Ciudad Naranco 4-2 in the final round to win the tournament with a perfect score 14/14. Club Ajedrez Sestao lost to Andreu Paterna by 1-5 and the latter finished second with 9/14. Platja D’aro Club Escacs won against Granada Sidn-Civica-Nazaries-Trevenque 4-2 to claim third place 8/14.

A total of 73 players represented eight teams including 28 GMs, 15 IMs, a WGM and a WIM took part from 19 countries across the world. The seven-day seven-round Rating Team tournament was organized by FEDA (Federación Española de Ajedrez) in Linares, Spain from 27th August to 2nd September 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
