Apoorv Kamble awesome at 2nd ChessFusion Rapid Rating Open 2026
IM Apoorv Kamble scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 2nd ChessFusion Rapid Rating Open 2026.
Apoorv’s fourth overall, third rating tournament triumph of the year
Second seeded, IM Anuj Shrivatri made a perfect start by winning eight consecutive games. The top seed of the event, IM Apoorv Kamble was the sole pursuer at 7.5/8. Apoorv defeated Anuj to become a clear champion, Anuj finished third. FM Bhuvan Krishna Prasanth won against Indrajit Majumdar to secure second place.
The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹25000, ₹20000 and ₹18000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 877 players including two IMs and a WIM took part from various parts of the country, one from France, Germany, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, Scotland and seven from the USA. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by ChessFusion at Smriti Academy CBSE School in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 11th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
