Apoorv Kamble triumphs at Inventive 1.0 Rapid Rating Open 2026
IM Apoorv Kamble, IM Hari Madhavan N B, IM Chakravarthi Reddy M, Nirmal L and CM Sudarshan Bhat scored 8/9 each at Inventive 1.0 Rapid Rating Open 2026. Apoorv won the tournament on tie-breaks. The remaining four were placed second to fifth respectively. The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹15000 and ₹14000 along with a trophy each.
Apoorv’s second rating tournament victory of the year
IM Apoorv Kamble and IM Hari Madhavan N B were the coleaders 7.5/8 each, heading into the last round. Hari drew against Apoorv, the former finished second and the latter first. IM Chakravarthi Reddy M defeated Prashanth J Naik to claim third place.

A total of 402 players including a GM and four IMs took part from various parts of the country. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Inventive Chess Academy at Euroschool Chimney Hills in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 28th February 2026. The time control of the tournament was 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
