GM Christian Bauer scored an unbeaten 6/7 to win 1st Alpe d’Huez Rating Open 2026. IM Ravi Teja S and IM C R G Krishna scored 5.5/7 each. They secured second and third place respectively.

Three Indians in top five

France’s very own GM Christian Bauer became the champion. IM Ravi Teja S and IM C R G Krishna completed the podium. All three remained undefeated. IM Sanket Chakravarty scored 5/7 to finish fifth.

The total prize fund was €6000. The first prize was €1200 and a trophy.

A total of 40 players including a GM and four IMs took part from eight countries across the world. The six-day seven-round Rating tournament was organized by Echiquier Grenoblois at Palais des Sports in Huez, France from 24th to 29th August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
