FIDE Rating list February 2026: Arjun Erigaisi, Praggnanandhaa and Gukesh still in Top 10

13 Indians in World Top 100

Arjun Erigaisi maintained his place in the Top 5 in all three formats – Classical, Rapid and Blitz. Although, he played Classical games at 88th Tata Steel Masters 2026 in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, they were not counted for February Rating list as the tournament concluded yesterday 1st February 2026.

Women: Seven Indian still in Top 100

Four Indian women are still in top 20. They are – GM Humpy Koneru, World no.6, GM Divya Deshmukh, World no.12, GM R Vaishali, World no.16 and GM Harika Dronavalli, World no.18 among women. Harika moved up by a place, although she did not play a Classical rated game in January. There are still seven Indians among the Top 100 women.

Countries

India had the no.2 position in January 2026 FIDE Rating list in terms of average rating of top ten players in the Open, 15 Elo rating points behind the USA. India was also no.2 in the Women category. In Mixed category, India remained at no.2 position in the previous list. February 2026 details will be updated when they are available.
