Dragon Chilling clinches a Golden Double at FIDE World Teams Rapid and Blitz 2026

Dragon Chilling led by the 17th World Champion Ding Liren won Gold in both FIDE World Teams Rapid and Blitz 2026 Chess Championship.

Rapid: MGD1 Silver, Hexamind Bronze

Dragon Chilling, the defending champion MGD1 and Hexamind Chess Team, all three teams scored 18/24 each. Dragon Chilling clinched Gold on tie-breaks, MGD1 was placed second and Hexamind Chess Team third.

In the Blitz, Dragon Chilling defeated Endgame.AI by 5-1 in both matches to win the Finals and become the champions. For third place, Hexamind Chess Team won the first match by 4-2 against Uzbekistan. Then they lost the next two matches by 2.5-3.5 and 0.5-5.5. Thus, Uzbekistan claimed Bronze.

The total prize fund was €500000, €310000 in Rapid and €190000 in Blitz. The top three prizes in Rapid were €110000, €70000 and €50000 each, for Blitz they were, €75000, €50000 and €3000 each.
