IM Jairo Andres Hernandez Sanchez (COL), GM Mitrabha Guha and GM Cristhian Camilo Rios Gomez (COL) scored 6.5/9 each at Melbourne Open Masters 2026. Jairo won the tournament on tie-breaks, Mitrabha and Cristhian were placed second and third respectively. The total prize fund was AU$ 11900. The top three prizes in Masters were AU$ 2500, $1500 and $1000.

The five-day nine-round Masters (>2000) tournament was organized by IA Walter Wolffs at Melbourne Chess Club in Melbourne, Australia from 14th to 19th April 2026. Rest day was on 17th April The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
