GM Magesh Panchanathan scored an unbeaten 4.5/5 to win 10th Carolinas Classic 2026.
Magesh’s first rating tournament triumph of the year
GM Magesh Panchanathan and GM Safal Bora (USA) scored an unbeaten 4.5/5 each. Magesh became the champion. The total prize fund was US$ 14000. The top three prizes were $2000 + plaque, $1000 and $600 each.

A total of 70 players including seven GMs, an IM, two WGMs and a WIM took part from various parts of USA and all over the world. The three-day five-round Rating tournament was organized by Charlotte Chess Center at Hilton Charlotte University Palace in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA from 12th to 14th June 2026. The time control of the tournament was 110 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
