Nithin Babu clear first at 360 One Challengers 2026
Nithin Babu scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win 360 One Challengers (<2400) Rating 2026.
Nithin’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
Nithin Babu and CM Ashirwad Swain were coleaders at 7/8 each, heading into the final round. Nithin defeated Ashirwad to become a clear champion. FM Madhesh Kumar S scored a win over FM Dinesh Rajan M to finish second. FM Viresh Sharnarthi lost to Arul Anandh S P K who claimed third place.
The total prize fund was ₹6000000 for the festival, ₹1500000 for Challengers. The top three prizes were ₹300000, ₹200000 and ₹100000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 261 players including an IM took part from various parts of India and two from the USA. The nine-day nine-round Challengers (<2400) tournament was organized by Indian Chess School at Expo Hall, World Trade Center in Mumbai, Maharashtra from 10th to 18th June 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
