Nithin Babu convincingly clinches 1st Ten Ten Chess Academy Rating Open 2026

Nithin Babu scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 1st Ten Ten Chess Academy Rating Open 2026. Prajit Ravishankar and Dhanush Ragav N S scored 7.5/9 each. They secured second and third place respectively according to tie-breaks.

Nithin’s first tournament victory of the year

Nithin Babu was the sole leader 7.5/8, heading into the final round. Prajit Ravishankar was the only pursuer at 7/8. Aakash K P lost to Nithin and the latter became the champion. Prajit drew against Saileash Raja Nagarajan to secure second place. Pranav Ramkumar suffered defeat against Dhanush Ragav N S who finished third.

The total prize fund was ₹500000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹35000 and ₹25000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 155 players took part from various parts of the country. The five-day nine-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Ten Ten Chess Academy at Sree Iyappa Matriculation High School in Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 6th to 10th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
