Oleg Korneev wins DWZ-Match Open 2026, Muthaiah second and Sanket third
GM Oleg Korneev (ESP), IM Muthaiah Al and IM Sanket Chakravarty scored an unbeaten 4.5/5 each at DWZ-Match Open 2026. Oleg became champion on tie-breaks. Muthaiah and Sanket were placed second and third respectively.

The total prize fund was €1600. The top three prizes were €400 + trophy, €250 and €150.

A total of 109 players including a GM and three IMs took part from eight countries across the world. The three-day five-round Rating tournament was organized by DWZ-Match UG (limited liability)/Paul Maria Georg Drösser at St. Gertrud in Düsseldorf, Germany from 24th to 26th April 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
