Peng Li Min triumphs at 1st Juraflore Fort des Rousses Master 2026, Himal Gusain third

GM Peng Li Min (SUI) scored an unbeaten 7/9 to win 1st Juraflore – Fort des Rousses Master (≥2000) 2026. IM Himal Gusain was placed third scoring 6.5/9.

Five Indians in top ten, Vyom Malhotra scores an IM-norm

GM Christian Bauer (FRA), IM Himal Gusain, GM S Rohith Krishna and IM Shahil Dey scored 6.5/9 each. They secured second to fifth place respectively according to tie-breaks. IM Suyog Wagh and Vyom Malhotra scored 6/9 each. They were placed eighth and ninth respectively. Vyom earned his maiden IM-norm at this event.

The total participation in the inaugural edition was 92 – 51 in Master (≥2000), 18 in Accession (1650-1999) and 23 in Amateur (<1700).

The total prize fund was €20000, €16000 in Master. The top three prizes were €4000, €3000 and €2000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 51 players including 5 GMs, 16 IMs took part from 12 countries across the world in the Master Group (≥2000). The seven-day nine-round Rating tournament was organized by Echiquier Lédonien at Les Fort des Rousses Juraflore in Les Rousses, France from 27th June to 4th July 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
