Pranav Venkatesh perfect at 2nd Miroslav Čabarkapa Mimica Blitz Rating Open 2026
GM Pranav Venkatesh scored a perfect 11/11 to win 2nd Miroslav Čabarkapa Blitz Rating Open 2026. GM Alexey Sarana (SRB) secured second place scoring 9.5/11. GM Aleksandar Kovacevic (SRB) was third 8.5/11 The top three prizes were RSD 40000, 30000 and 25000 each.
Pranav’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
Second seed of the event, GM Pranav Venkatesh made a brilliant start by winning ten games in-a-row. The top seed, GM Alexey Sarana (SRB) was the sole player trailing him by a full point at 9/10. A draw would have sufficed for Pranav to become a clear champion, still he went for the maximum by defeating GM Evgeniy Podolchenko in the final round. Pranav won the tournament with a 100% score 11/11.

A total of 125 players including 12 GMs and 5 IMs took part from nine countries across the world. The one-day eleven-round Blitz Rating Open tournament was organized by Children’s Chess Club “Kapablanca 1992” at Elementary School “Miroslav Antić in Futog, Serbia on 19th April 2026. The time control of the tournament was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
