Rosh Jain wins 1st SRM Rapid Rating Open 2026 Haryana
FM Rosh Jain scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win 1st Chancellor Trophy SRM Rapid Rating Open 2026 Haryana. IM Garv Gaur, Arun Rathee and WIM Prishita Gupta also scored the same. They were placed second to fourth according to tie-breaks.
Rosh’s second overall, first rating tournament triumph of the year
Nine players – FM Rosh Jain, Puneet Verma, IM Garv Gaur, WIM Prishita Gupta, Mayank Pal, Arun Rathee, Shubham, CM Nimay Agrawal and Kartik Khetwal were the leaders at 7/8 each, heading into the last round. The reigning Delhi State Under-17 Open 2026 champion, Rosh got a walk over against Mayank to become the champion. Garv defeated Puneet to finish second. Nimay lost to Arun who claimed third place.
The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹21000 + trophy, ₹18000 and ₹15000 each.

A total of 453 players including two IMs and a WIM took part from various parts of the country. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Department of Physical Education and Sports, SRM University at SRM University in Sonepat, Haryana on 2nd August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
