CM Shrayan Majumder scored 9/10 to win 1st Maverick 5th Khannur Rating Open 2026. Shreyas Ghadi scored 8.5/10 to secure second place. Yash Kapadi finished third 8.5/10.
Shrayan’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
CM Shrayan Majumder was the sole leader 8/9, heading into the final round. Yash Kapadi, Jaiveer Patil and Shreyas Ghadi were trailing by a half pont at 7.5/9 each. Shrayan got a walk over against Garv Rai to become a clear champion. Shreyas defeated Jaiveer to secure second place. Yash drew against Om Sagar to finish third.
The total prize fund was ₹300000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹18000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each.

A total of 201 players took part from various parts of the country, one from the USA and Zambia each. The six-day ten-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Maverick Events at New Horizon Scholars School in Thane, Maharashtra from 10th to 15th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
