Vaibhav Jayant Raut wins 1st G H Raisoni Memorial Jalna Rapid Rating Open 2026
FM Vaibhav Jayant Raut and Kartavya Anadkat scored an unbeaten 8/9 each at 1st G H Raisoni Memorial Jalna Rapid Rating Open 2026. Vaibhav won the tournament on tie-breaks, Kartavya was adjudged second. Five players – CM Naitik R Mehta, FM Priyanshu Patil, Sahil Sanjay Shejal, IM Kashish Manoj Jain and Pruthu Deshpande scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed third to seventh respectively. The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹31000, ₹25000 and ₹20000.
Vaibhav’s second tournament triumph of the year
FM Vaibhav Jayant Raut and Kartavya Anadkat were the coleaders 7.5/8 each, going into the last round. Kartavya drew against Vaibhav, the latter won the tournament and the former finished second. CM Naitik R Mehta defeated Siddharth Madhur Bang to finish third.

A total of 239 players including two IMs and a WIM took part from various parts of the country. The one-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by G H Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation & Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation at Sri Chaitanya Techno School in Jalna, Maharashtra on 8th February 2026. The time control of the tournament was 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment.
