Vihaan Shetty wins 4th RCC Club Rating Open 2026
Vihaan Shetty and Vihaan Aadarsh Lobo scored 8/9 each at 4th RCC Club Rating Open 2026. Shetty won the tournament on tie-breaks and Aadarsh Lobo was placed second. Aadhya A Shetty scored sole 7/9 to finish third. The prizes were trophies and entry fee was only ₹250.
Shetty’s first rating tournament triumph of his career
Vihaan Shetty and Vihaan Aadarsh Lobo were the coleaders 7/8 each, heading into the last round. Aayiu Atindrya Shetty was the only player trailing them by a half point at 6.5/8. Shetty defeated Aayiu to become the champion. Aadarsh won against Sanjith Bhat to secure second place. Aadhya A Shetty scored full point versus Pruthvij Vijay Suvarna to claim third place. Rao’s Chess Corner is run by Karnataka’s top chess couple – IM Sharan Rao (Founder) and WGM Isha Sharma.

A total of 86 players took part from all over the country and one from Switzerland. The nine-day nine-round Rating Open tournament was organized by and at Rao’s Chess Corner in Mangalore, Karnataka from 17th to 26th January 2026. Rest day 22nd February. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
