31st TePe Sigeman & Co. 2026: Arjun Erigaisi set to face Magnus Carlsen in Round 1

Arjun Erigaisi will make his fourth appearance at TePe Sigeman & Co. 2026. After skipping last year, Arjun is set to face the World no.1, Magnus Carlsen in the very first round. The reigning World Rapid and Blitz champion and arguably the greatest player of all time, makes his return to this event after 22 years.

The 31st edition of TePe Sigeman & Co. has a star studded field – World no.1, Magnus Carlsen (NOR), World no.4, Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB), World no.11, Arjun Erigaisi, World no.15, Jorden van Foreest (NED), World no.32, Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus (TUR), World no.53 and Sweden no.1, Nils Grandelius (SWE), World no.96, Andy Woodward (USA) and Women’s World no.4, Jiner Zhu (CHN).

Time Control

90 minutes for 40 moves and then 30 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move (Malmö rules – no draws before move 40).
