31st TePe Sigeman & Co. 2026 R1: Arjun Erigaisi draws against Magnus Carlsen

Arjun Erigaisi drew against Magnus Carlsen in Round 1 of 31st TePe Sigeman & Co. 2026. Andy Woodward (USA) and Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB) are the only two players to score a win each against Nils Grandelius (SWE) and Jiner Zhu (CHN) respectively.

Woodward and Abdusattorov start with a win

Carlsen – Arjun: 0.5-0.5

Magnus Carlsen (NOR, 2840) and Arjun Erigaisi (2751) have played three Classical rated games against each other. Carlsen won two and the remanining one ended in a draw. Their fourth battle was another draw. This time, it was a relatively calm draw arising out of Petroff’s Defense.

Time Control

90 minutes for 40 moves and then 30 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move (Malmö rules – no draws before move 40).
