Samuel Sevian defeated the defending champion Aravindh Chitahmbaram in the final round to win 7th Stepan Avagyan Memorial 2026.

Nihal remains undefeated

Samuel Sevian (USA) drew against Alexander Donchenko (GER) in the penultimate round and defeated the defending champion, Aravindh Chithambaram in the last round to win 7th Stepan Avagyan Memorial 2026. Vladislav Artemiev also scored 5.5/9. He secured second place on tie-breaks. Nihal Sarin and Ray Robson (USA) scored 5/9 each. The highest rated player in the field, Nihal was placed third as per tie-breaks.

The total prize fund was 10050000 AMD (≈ US$ 26000). The top three prizes were AMD 3200000, 2200000 and 1700000 each. The top three Chessify prizes were bundle worth $350, $300 and $250 each.
