GM Egor Bogdanov (UKR), IM Augustin Droin (FRA), IM Harshavardhan G B, IM Vladyslav Larkin (UKR) and FM Moritz Valentin Collin (SUI) scored 7/9 each at 39th Cannes Open A (>2100) 2026. Egor won the tournament on tie-breaks. The remaining four were placed second to fifth respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was €10000, €6000 in Open A. The top three prizes were €1800, €1200 and €700.

A total of 114 players including six GMs, eleven IMs, two WGMs and three WIMs took part from 20 countries across the world in the Open A (>2100) category. The seven-day nine-round Rating Open A tournament was organized by Romuald Labaca at Palais des Festivals de Cannes – Salon des Ambassadeurs in Cannes, France from 23rd February to 1st March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
