Lala Shohradova wins Gold, Pratitee Bordoloi Silver and Prishita Gupta Bronze at Asian Junior Rapid Girls 2026

WFM Lala Shohradova and WFM Pratitee Bordoloi scored 6/7 each at Asian Junior Rapid Girls 2026. Lala won Gold and Pratitee Silver according to tie-breaks. WIM Prishita Gupta claimed Bronze scoring 5/7.

Four players – WFM Lala Shohradova (TKM), WCM Kashthuri Bhai R, WFM Nivedita V C and WFM Pratitee Bordoloi were the leaders at 5/6 each, heading into the last round. Lala defeated Nivedita to clinch the Gold. Kashthuri lost to Pratitee who won Silver. WIM Prishita Gupta won against WCM Sravyasree Bheemarasetty to claim Bronze.

A total of 60 players including a WIM took part from seven countries across Asia. The two-day seven-round Rapid Rating Girls tournament was organized by Maharashtra Chess Association at ITC Maratha in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 17th and 18th August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
