Hugo Ten Hertog wins 51st Utrecht Open 2026, Lalit Rohit shares second place
GM Hugo Ten Hertog (NED) scored an unbeaten 5.5/6 to win 51st Utrecht Open Group A (≥2000) 2026. IM Li Riemersma (NED) and GM Lalit Rohit scored 5/6 each to share second place.

The total participation combining all four categories was 390 – 101 in Group A (≥2000), 98 in Group B (1850-2050), 93 in Group C (1700-1900) and 98 in Group D (<1750). The top three prizes were €1200, €700 and €500 each.

A total of 101 players including two GMs and seven IMs took part from eight countries across the world in the Open A ( ≥2000) category. The three-day six-round Rating Open A (≥2000) tournament was organized by Stichting Bevordering Schaaksport Utrecht at International School Utrecht in Utrecht, Netherlands from 15th to 17th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 110 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
